Around the edge.

A journey of 7000 miles must inevitably start with a trip to the fuel station, this was to be no exception and tbh I think it's going to be a regular trip......But I'm getting ahead of myself, what is this 7000 mile journey? Overland to outer Mongolia perhaps? No, nothing so complicated as that, this is simply a project to travel all around the coast of Britain.
My wife Carol and I decided last year that after many years of flying round the world looking at other peoples countries we should have another look at what this country has to offer.
To do it we have embarked on what may turn out to be the longest pub crawl in Britain. We have bought a decent tent and a few bits and pieces to go with it and the plan is to visit every town, village, hamlet or beach on the coast and take a picture, fly a kite, eat an ice cream, cast a line, have a pint or simply brew up in every place.
The mainland of Britain has roughly 5000 miles of coast and if you add on the islands it's 7000 miles so I'm not expecting to get finished anytime soon.
This blog is mainly to allow us to keep a journal and a record of the trip but if you have stumbled onto it or been directed here from another site then feel free to comment, if you have any recommendations for up coming coastal events, camp sites, pubs or restaurants to share we will be grateful.
